SIGHT IS A SUGGESTION WE RUN LONGHOOD FORWARD

i think we hit something again
Azer & Western Railway is a newer company to Azer, being created in 1989 with 2nd hand NW SD40s. 18 to be exact. the engines already were able to be run bi-directional, so they just ran with that. but the engines needed to be modded. and you can tell how (the nose was chopped down and they were given a water tank on the hood for the crew). A&W only has SD40s, and these poor SD40s have been through literal hell and back. they rarely get maintained and smoke like an alco constantly, they were given hancock whistles (DO YOU HEAR THE WHISTLE), and tend to run long trains with few engines. these engines suffered on through all the chaos Azer went through (The invasion of Azer 1993–1994 (US vs Azer), the 2000- 2004 riots, the 2004 mass evacuations of Azer and its eventual napalm strikes, the eventual nuclear strikes on the islands, the 2020-present day Azer conflicts (NATO VS USSR), everything). The reason why this train is going long hood forward is because A&W trains commonly hit things. Like trains tend to arrive to their destinations covered in shit they hit in their journey to the area. It is so common the company was given the slogan “AW, we will hit you” from locals.
this description is still a WIP, im just too lazy for the rest of the lore of these things.

@LunarEclipseSP most long hood forward trains are set up bi directional, so there is technically no wrong direction for them to be facing, they can just drive any way, forwards or backwards. trains set up long hood forward exclusively backwards is the correct direction. in this example A&W runs bi directionally but prefers long hood forwards for safety
