1,2,3 for drop fuel tanks, rocket pods and release missiles

Looks awesome - As for the performance problem, perhaps it's because the Centre of lift is too far back and the Centre of Mass is too far forward.
Perhaps you can get them closer to eachother by making hidden wings inside the body closer to the cockpit?
It's not rubbish at all, try giving it a paint job and it will look even better.
