today is special, since instead of a history of this fine aircraft a little story from my father...
Story!!!
It was a normal day back in the 80s, I assume my dad wasn't expecting anything to interesting, when he was told he'd get a joyride in a AT-6 Texan and he was only my age! the pilot was a friend of my great-godfather, who was going to by a fighter pilot but he was to tall and wouldn't survive the ejecting process. he was given a parachute despite not knowing how to use it and he flew up, riding in the back seat. the pilot obviously pushed the plane to the lifts doing stalls and loops and as my dad said "I was trying so hard not to puke to enjoy it". to coumarate the funny and awesome family story, my model has the same postwar USAF paint job the one had that my dad flew in.
