Focke-Wulf FW-190C

105k Hedero  4.3 years ago

The Focke-Wulf FW-190 is a German single-seat, single engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank. I know, not much of a description but whatever. This build was inspired by Costr's Fw-190C. I absolutely love the inlet on the belly of this aircraft and all the pipes connecting to it. I don't know what their purpose is but they just look straight up awesome! This aircraft flies very well and has pretty realistic flight performance. I forgot to add the guns so I figured I'll just leave it at this point. It's also a ton of fun to fly around! 1=nav lights G=LandingGear VTOL=Flaps. Enjoy!

@Hedero. They needed a fighter that could escort their high altitude bombers and intercept high altitude enemy bombers.

The pod under the fuselage is a fairing for the turbocharger so it cuold fly at higher altitudes

Oh wow I just figured it was because of the size of the radial engine. That's interesting!@blackvultureaeroespace

@Hedero Its actually quite similar to the reason the P-47 was so chunky, they neeeded space to fit a turbocharger

Also no its not. I build the aircraft on my iPad and upload it on the site. Then I download it on my computer and upload the aircraft with freecam. So I try to delete it as fast as possible as the F-104 I uploaded on my iPad is not completely finished lol.@ACEPILOT109

Wow, thx for the info. My dad thought it was something similar to what the P-51 used but I guess not. I love the interesting facts!@blackvultureaeroespace

    Cool,
The bulge underneath is, apparently, a turbocharger, using the high pressure exhaust fumes to compress the air intake, increasing the amount of air available for combustion
