The Xi'an H-6 is a Chinese twin-engine strategic bomber that was derived from the Tupolev Tu-16 and is currently used by China's People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).

BACKGROUND

Delivery of the Tu-16 to China began in 1958, and a licence production agreement with the Soviets was signed in the late 1950s. The aircraft would first flew 1959 and was designated as the "H-6".

DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

The first domestically produced H-6 was completed in 1968 and evidence of bombing training was recorded by American spy satellites on August 1971. By March 1972, the CIA estimated that the PRC had 32 operational aircraft with an additional 19 awaiting completion.

The H-6 was used to drop 9 nuclear devices at the Lop Nur test site. However, with the increased knowledge and development of ballistic missile technology, the nuclear delivery capabilities that the H-6 offered had moved to a dual nuclear/conventional bombing role.

Currently, China has 231+ of these species of bombers (Xi'an H-6N).

SPECIFICATIONS

The aircraft can be piloted with four pilots, and is powered with two Soloviev D-30KP-2 turbofan engines which produces 27,000 pounds (118 kN) of thrust each.

It has a top speed of 1,050 km/h (650 mph) or 570 kN with a Thrust-to-Weight ratio of 0.24.

The aircraft is armed with six or seven Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23 autocannons, two in remote dorsal turret, two in remote ventral turret, two in manned tail turret, and occasionally one NR-23 in the nose. The aircraft is also with several anti-ship missiles. However, the bombs are all for yours as the H-6 has no bombs, so it's up to you for the bombs.

The aircraft is currently by the PLAAF, although the countries of Egypt and Iraq used it in the 20th century.

Just please note that the manned rear gun turret in the back is operated by the player, and there are no other guns to use. Second, the rear gun is quite inaccurate at pinning down enemies.
