De Havilland F.3 Vampire

This is my replica of the De Havilland Vampire. I originaly built it for a challenge, but failed to complete it in time. It is a replica of a real plane, which was used in the Mexican air force. It has the real markings from that particular aircraft. It has taken me a long time to fininsh, and has some cool features which i had never tried before now. This is my first attempt at custom paintjobs/markings and detailed interior. It goes at realistic speeds for this aircraft. All flight controls are normal. The De Havilland vampire was designed and made in Britain, but many aircraft, such as this one, where sent to counties such as Norway, Switzerland, Australia and Mexico, where they were built under licence. More About the Vampire (courtesy of wikipedia): The de Havilland Vampire was a British jet fighter developed and manufactured by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. Work on the aircraft began during the Second World War as a largely experimental aircraft suitable for combat that harnessed the groundbreaking innovation of jet propulsion; it was quickly decided to opt for a single-engine, twin-boom aircraft equipped with the Halford H.1 turbojet engine (later the de Havilland Goblin). Originally ordered as an experimental aircraft only, the decision to mass-produce the aircraft as an interceptor for the Royal Air Force (RAF) was finalised in May 1944.

In 1946, the first production aircraft entered service with the RAF, only months after the conflict had come to a close. The Vampire was the second jet fighter, after the Gloster Meteor, operated by the RAF and the first to be powered by one jet engine. Aside from its propulsion system and twin-boom configuration, it was a relatively conventional aircraft. The Vampire quickly replaced many wartime piston-engine fighter aircraft and was in front-line service until 1953, after which the Vampire was primarily assigned to secondary roles such as pilot training and ground attack, for which specialist variants of the type were produced.

In 1966, the type was retired by the RAF, after being replaced by more capable jet-powered fighters such as the Hawker Hunter and Gloster Javelin. During its service, the Vampire had achieved several aviation firsts and records, including becoming the first jet aircraft to traverse the Atlantic Ocean. It had been sold to many nations and operated in a wide range of environments around the world. Vampires participated in several conflicts, including the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, the Malayan emergency and the Rhodesian Bush War.

Almost 3,300 Vampires were manufactured, a quarter of them built under licence in other countries. The first jet fighter Royal Navy was the Sea Vampire, a naval variant which was operated from its aircraft carriers. The Vampire was developed into the DH.115 dual-seat trainer and the more advanced DH.112 Venom ground-attack and night fighter.

the problem is with the custom front landing gear. Click on the black thing at the top of the front gear. this is the rotator that turns the wheel. make it so it only turns on when action 4/5/6... are on

i did notice this and tried to fix it. I think it may have something to do with the landing gears passing through the shark decal. I had to get rid of some custom landing gears i made because they broke the aircraft. if anyone knows what causes this and can fix it i would be very gratefull

Well, it flies. But control surfaces are inside other parts, moving through them, and it exploded in mid air. Something is not attached well, and it's making noise. Or it's a part with no mass.

Nice paint job. Could you remind me tomorrow to try it out in flight? It might bring it a spotlight. I can't test right now.
