For Vertical takeoff, 45% to 50% forward on Vtol to hover. Controls are like conventional helicopter.
To convert to forward flight, push the throttle forward, then forward fully on Vtol, then deactivate gyro with Act:8.
Also for more agility, press Act:1 to activate agility.
