Mantis

19.2k vamad88  5.7 years ago

The Mantis has an airframe that is grown from a bio engineered fungus. Formed as integrated single piece, the DNA directed fungal growth is fractal in micro structure. Even the attachment points for engines, wings, and passenger cabin are programmed into the fungus. The treated mature form is vacuum sealed and preserved into an extremely strong and lightweight airframe. Work is progressing on using the spongelike interior structure of the airframe as an additional fuel tank.

Not surprised, I have to build all my stuff on my iPad so I tend to stay away from things that freak it out. Thanks! @AWESOMENESS360 @Treadmill103

This looks awesome! I love the backstory, very interesting. Also, I love how even though my IPad can only run about 200-250 parts, this runs very smoothly, just because it consists of only fuselage and wings, which are very easy to process.
