( i ) CURRENTLY TUNED FOR EARTH GRAVITY

--- Ll-501 - A light transport truck with all the protection you could ask for. ---

Heavily armored (by space-truck standards) terrestrial troop or cargo transporter chassis for use on any soil- or rock-based planet, for when speed is not a necessity, and when you don't have any rocket fuel.

The system travels at about 30 mph on Earth with an active speed limiter.

Such units can be found in many (human) extraterrestrial bases. They generally service areas hard to access with hovercraft or airship landing craft, as well as intra-base and short-range transport.

The rear can be easily modified for support of different types of cargo, and the suspension system can be tuned or replaced for use on different planets.

The cabin's closed, standalone system protects against:
- radiation, especially UV rays
- changes in air pressure
- unsuitable atmospheres
- chemical weapons
- bioweapons
The airlock-able cabin is typically set to the same air pressure as the exterior, while the drivers operate in their space suits. Breathable air is supplied directly into the space suits via air pumps.

An alternative is to pressurize and fill the cabin with breathable air, and have the drivers not wear any special gear. However, this means they will not be able to leave the cabin unless in a building with breathable air.

If in an atmosphere suitable for human breathing, the frontal vents are opened and the oxygen tank does not need to be filled. Drivers need not wear space suits either.

It should be noted that there are no frontal signal lights. This is because they are not required in the truck's original function of outer space terrestrial transport. The rear lights are used to signal that the truck has stopped and cargo can be transferred on or off the rear bed.

Unit Cost: $300,000
