Flex-Bomber

Like all normal boys, I've always loved blowing stuff up. The Flex-Bomber should fulfil most of your bombing needs: slow bombing, supersonic bombing, dive bombing, level bombing, over-the-shoulder toss bombing, carpet bombing, stationary bombing, and most other kinds of bombing you can think of. See video here -- it's a different aircraft, but the performance is exactly the same.

Cruise speed is 50% throttle, about 500 mph near sea level. Above 50% throttle, the very special "afterburner" will take you to 2500 mph in a matter of seconds, and the variable geometry will slow you down practically instantly when you want to.

The Flex-Bomber also has VTOL capability, and can come to a dead stop in midair. To do that, in level flight, simply set LandingGear to retracted, and smoothly reduce throttle to zero.

Controls

  • FireWeapons: release bombs (in air-to-air mode)
  • FireGuns: fire plasma cannon

Regular flight mode

  • Throttle: speed, afterburner, variable geometry
  • Pitch, Yaw, and Roll: work as expected

VTOL mode (only available under 200 mph)

  • LandingGear: retract to enable VTOL mode
  • Pitch: ascend and descend

Flexibility? Guns? Bombs? You want it? It’s yours my friend, as long as you have enough Rubies

I don’t know what you made this out of. Rotators? Pistons? I have no idea but I did see your FT

@TifftheCat I just looked it up, and now I get it. I don't watch TV and deliberately avoid pop culture, so it's very unlikely I'll get a pop-culture reference of any kind... especially something that's related to advertising. Anyway, I'm glad you had fun with my build.

@TifftheCat what does that mean? Is it a meme or something?

Oh, that's cool. Thanks for telling me that @SledDriver. I'll have to try that sometime.

Thanks, @Belloaka. You just set partCollisionResponse="None" on every part in the build.

Wow, very amazing. How did you make it indestructible? I tried driving it at full throttle into the ground and nothing happened. But once again I really liked it! :-)

Thanks, @Treadmill103. Yeah, I think this is my most fun build ever. One of my favourite things to do is to set trim to slightly positive, so that the plane keeps nosing up ever so slightly; then make a bomb run at a target and hold down the release button when the pipper nears the target. Then slow down a bit and watch the target get absolutely hammered.

@Notaleopard But my VG airbrakes have nothing to do with rotator-based control surfaces.... I didn't come up with them as an "alternative" to RBCS.

Thank you for letting me and the OG Owner use the modules.
I will credit you when its finished.
By the way your Variable Wing Airbrakes is a neat alternative to Custom Control Surfaces which use rotators.

@Notaleopard I saw that transformer thing. It's very impressive, but you're using my flight module in a way it was never intended to be used. You should be glad it flies reasonably well at all.

@Notaleopard This flight module ("Bullet") is an evolution of the TBV-100. I'm not sure what you mean by poor performance: I think the maneuverability of that module is extraordinary, surpassed only by this one. And I have automated the same module quite successfully, so I can only infer that you're doing something wrong.

    Good Day/Night
    Are you using this one
or you made another new one?
I'm trying to create a Module that can be operated by a A.I for a Dogfight ,I tried to reverse engineer the old one but I failed because of the Poor performance of the old one in pitch and roll ,the A.I is also having problems in controlling the new one.
I guess the modules can be only operated by Players.
