@JoeriV thanks! And as marxman28 explained, the pods are based off the Enclosed Weapons Pod on the Advanced Hornet. This particular aircraft isn't fully stealth, far from it, but its supposed to be slightly stealthy, or trying to be. That's why there's the pods, and the low observable nozzle.

@JoeriV I presume that they were inspired by a hypothetical F/A-18F Advanced Super Hornet upgrade. They could carry four AIM-120s or two AIM-120s and two 1,000-pound JDAMs in one pod. Simply put: more ordnance on fewer stations.
I was thinking, "what is the point of those wing pods? Why not just mount the weapons on the wings as usual?" But then I thought, are they supposed to be stealth pods? Is this based on a real life concept?
