Description
Type: Air to Air Escort and Air Defense
Crew: (1)Pilot
Weapons: Defensive Payload (7) Guardians, 20mm multi-cannons, (2) Interceptors or optional mission payload pylons
Manufacturer: Avenel Aviation / EBF Engineering Corp

Overview: Designed as a cooperative project between Avenel Aviation and EBF Engineering, the MFP-X36 dubbed "Black Diamond" was a much easier alternative to the 231 series multirole fighter. Despite it's odd shape, it provided increased capabilities to the airframe to include better turning speeds, improved aerodynamics, a much smaller radar cross-section, as well as an upgraded missile bay that can hold 7 defensive missiles as opposed to the 6 found on most fighters used by the Alliance forces. In the original testing phase, critics did not approve of the paint job. In response, it was decided to keep the orange stripe, and paint it an intimidating black with Ferrite, which also works as RAM to further decrease it's radar signature.

Builders Notes
I've been following EBF's builds, and the MFP seemed like a plane with excellent potential. I didn't want to take away from the overall spirit, or personality of the original plane so I made sure as much of the original design was implemented. For the build process, I worked flat panels around the actual model itself, retaining the overall shape and refining it. Main changes were done to the tail, which uses a similar technique in my 417 fighter of folding flat in high speed turns. I used a variable swept wing design, so that the model could retain it's overall shape to the original in high speed flight, and improve it's turning radius.
I do apologize, the cockpit is something I picked up a long time ago, so I'm not sure who I could give credit to. I had to scrap the original idea of using parachutes since the new plane stops on a dime.
EBF if your reading this, I hope you enjoy this design. I kept the original orange stripe, and the color can be adjusted pretty easily incase you want to revert it back to white. It works great on mobile too, and nothing crazy has been done in XML other than upping the engine power a little, and turning off some collisions. The gas tank is located right above the missile bay incase you want to adjust the fuel capacity to something more realistic. I kept the parts count low to incase you need to modify it, or add more upgrades.
