Basilisk Attack Plane

929 IssaIwan  3.2 years ago

The Basilisk was developed in 1949 by Germany in collaboration with Britain and the United States. The plane’s purpose was to be a multirole aircraft, serving as an both an imprecise AtA & AtG bomber, and a fighter. The bomber armament consists of three 50mm Fireball cannons, an artillery round scaled down to fit aircraft. The cannons aren’t made to be precise, rather being used to hit a large area in a moderate amount of time. The fighter armament consists of a Stinger scattergun. Being neither a shotgun nor a machine gun, it fires a specialized caliber consisting of a cylinder of 10 thin, yet high-powered rounds, similar to a cap gun cylinder. In practice, it has been proven to be very effective in tearing apart enemy aircraft at close range (<0.5mi). Until 1980, this was the standard multirole aircraft through the Alliance of Democracies and even afterwards was still in service in poorer Alliance nations up until 2012 when the War Against Communism came to a close and most military assets were scrapped to make resources for civil development.
