Class: Weapon

Railguns. They all fire 500-lb bombs at high velocities in a perfectly straight line, and will take out any target in the game with one shot at any distance (limited by visibility). To arm, select air-to-ground mode, then the Boom 50 (if you have other air-to-ground weapons equipped). Press 'fire' to fire.

Apart from cosmetic differences, the major difference is the size of the bombs fired by each, and therefore the size of the explosions. The biggest one measures 3 x 3 x 13 units, and fires 2x-scale bombs. The next one down measures 1.5 x 1.5 x 13 units and fires 1x-scale bombs. The third one fires 1x1x0.1-scale bombs for when you need something really small. The downside to this one is that the explosions are also 1x1x0.1 scale, i.e. very flat when seen from the side. The last gun fires 0.4x-scale bombs, and has a bit of decoration.

I have made these to be as simple to use as possible. The first two are encased in fuselage sections, meaning they can be attached to another block from any side. All railgun parts have aircraft collisions set to false, so that you can mount them at the back of your aircraft (as on my Flanker) or within its body, and it will fire through the body of your aircraft or vehicle. The third one is encased in an inlet block, meaning it can only be mounted by the rear end on to the front of a fuselage section. The last one is encased in an inlet block but already has a fuselage block as a base plate.

NOTE: If you mount these anywhere but the exact center of your aircraft, mirroring the aircraft will mess up the connections, rendering the gun on the mirrored side unable to fire - it will simply drop the bombs when fired. Either mount the gun centrally, or take them off before mirroring.
