A limiting factor of the Pilotmario Air Force is the fact that the Pilotmario Air Force was its reliance on ground radar for its direction and command. Oftentimes, Pilotmario Air Force operations took it outside of friendly radar range, which aircrew refered to as "going dark". By placing radar systems on an aircraft, it could not only make it more mobile, but extend its range significantly due to the much higher altitude an aircraft flies at versus a radar tower. It is capable of detecting and tracking over 55 targets at once at ranges of up to 200 miles away. Due to the pulse Doppler radar, it is capable of picking up targets normally lost to ground clutter. It can also vector friendly interceptors to deal with incoming threats. Its importance was demonstrated when outnumbered HR Incorporated Needler attack jets were able to enagage numerous IJ United fighters under the guidance of an Endurance AEW+C present.
