Windworks Hecate EMCV

31.3k Mostly  4.1 years ago

It’s been a minute, but I'm popping in and out of SP every now and then. With school essentially completely occuring within the comfort of my own home, I have many more freedoms and more time to focus on some hobbies. Not too long before current events I did feel a spark of inspiration. So, I've inspired myself enough to refurbish and post a craft that I built over a year ago. Just something to occupy some people while I'm working on a slightly larger project. Unfortunately for me, that project is from scratch, meaning it takes a lot more time to make. In the meantime, here is this thing.

INFO:

The Windworks Hecate is an Experimental Multipurpose Cannon Vehicle (EMCV) used primarily to destroy tanks, enemy positions such as foxholes, trenches, buildings, etc. and seacraft if the range allows. The vehicle sports a 150mm cannon with incredible range and accuracy. However, due to its heavy weapon, large caliber, and the vehicle's overall size, the Hecate is very low-armor, slow, and vulnerable if spotted. The vehicle also doubles as a great platform for testing different caliber weapons. The easy and simple design of the cannon barrel itself allows for experimentation with other calibres and cannon types to better fit situations the vehicle might find itself in.

CREW: UP TO 8 (4 MINIMUM)

~Commander
~Gunner
~Weapons Engineer/Loader
~Driver
~Up to 4 extra passengers

ARMAMENT:

~1 150mm Hecate Mk.3 cannon

CONTROLS

~WASD to move

~AG1 for pegs (NOTE: Pegs are used to keep the vehicle from moving while firing. This also gives the cannon an extra 45 degrees of horizontal turret rotation. Only use the pegs on flat ground.)

~CAM1 for weapon sights

~Trim for horizontal turret movement

~VTOL for vertical turret movement

@RAAF Yup, it's supposed to resemble a vehicle similar to this. Plus making the gun an independent piece looked cooler than a turret.

@Hedero Eh, I'm sure it would've done way better if I did a teaser or two but the main goal of the post was just to signify I'm alive.

I'm honestly baffled that this only got 18 upvotes. This just really looks like something that would get on the highest rated page.@Mostly

@Mostly I've always wondered, how many people are in the SPMC?

@Hedero Thanks for the kind words! Time has been very strict for me because I’m planning for some big things outside of SP. I’m glad that I can show some activity every now and again. As for the masters part, all new members are voted in by the current members of the SPMC. Unfortunately not all votes are passed. All you need to do is show good building skill and make positive contributions to the community. Being a good role model catches the attention of many SPMC members. ;)

This is beautiful! You haven't uploaded in quite a while as I can see. But you sound like a busy person. Also, what is the Simpleplane's master chat all about? What are the requirements for joining? But anyways, very nice build!
