Someone please make the interior of this airboat! A large flying boat that Japan is proud of around the world. The prototype first flew in January 1941. The aircraft is made entirely of metal, with a thick hull and high-wing main wings, and is equipped with four air-cooled radial 14-cylinder engines. Compared to the Type 97 flying boat, it has significant aerodynamic improvements. Its standard armament is five 20mm cannons and two 7.7mm machine guns, and eight 250kg bombs and two torpedoes can be suspended under the wings. It was officially adopted in 1942 and was used for bombing, reconnaissance, and transport, including night attacks on Hawaii. Its flight performance was excellent, and it was evaluated as the best four-engine flying boat of World War II. A total of 167 units were produced
