On the 7th of October 2019 SMC Marine launched the first Batch 2 Pearl-class corvette. The Batch 2 offers several major improvements over the original Batch 1, including an anti-air capability, rear-mounted rocket launcher as standard and revised missile layout. They have a compliment of 80 to 110 men depending on their mission.

The Pearl-class is ideally suited for coastal defence and anti-piracy patrols. The class has also served well in the front line, especially in the Saltwater-Algorithm Conflict. The ships are very fast and pack a punch, with one 4" cannon, a seaRAM system, 16 VLS tubes and a rocket launcher. The radar is a scaled-down version of the seaScanner system from the Vengeance-class aircraft cruiser. The ship is powered by five small turbines.

Six Batch 2 vessels have been ordered by the East Hamalian Navy to replace the five Batch 1 ships currently in service. The ships are very cheap, costing just $80 million per unit. Four vessels are currently under construction for the East Hamalians. One is undergoing sea trials and another has been delivered to the East Hamalian Navy. Further vessels are being built for Warburg and the Deutschland.

Instructions:
AG1 activates the main gun. Aim with trim, VTOL and a turret mounted camera. Press ROCKETS to fire.
AG2 activates the close-in weapons system. Aim with VTOL and a turret mounted camera. Press ROCKETS to fire.
AG3 arms the ship-to-ship missiles. Aim with Cockpit view and VTOL.
AG4 fires the surface-to-air missiles.
AG5 activates the rocket launcher, VTOL to aim. Press ROCKET PODS to fire.
Throttle controls speed and Yaw controls turning.

Thank you. We are preparing for our first orbital flight with the Deutschland. If all goes according to plan we should be able to travel across the galaxy and back with the new converted jump drive we installed.
