Rothbauer Fi-356 Egilhard

929 IssaIwan  2.2 years ago

A jet interceptor designed in 1973 by the alloy manufacturer Rothbauer and produced in 1977 by Fieseler, utilizing an experimental bulletproof alloy invented by Rothbauer with the hopes of bringing the durability of armored cars to the skies. Not much is known about the alloy, just that its incredible durability is contradicted by its light weight on par with aluminum; and its price that surpasses even the most advanced supersonic bombers. As such, Egilhards were a rare sight and always flown by wealthy mercenaries and the highest ranking German pilots. With its limited use, the Fi-356 was designed to charge into the fray, withstand hundreds of shots, and destroy high priority targets before fleeing. This early model’s armament consists of a 90g heavy chaingun and two 7.92mm MG13 machine guns. The powerplant seen is an Argus 109-64 made as a lightweight yet maintenance-heavy variant of the powerful 109-44.
