The N-250 aircraft is a regional commuter turboprop civil passenger aircraft designed by IPTN (now PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT DI, Indonesian Aerospace), Indonesia. Using the code N which means Nusantara indicates that the design, production and calculations were carried out in Indonesia or even Nurtanio, who was the founder and pioneer of the aviation industry in Indonesia. Unlike the previous aircraft such as CN-235 where the CN code indicated CASA-Nusantara or CASA-Nurtanio, which means the aircraft was worked on jointly between the Spanish CASA company and IPTN.

This aircraft is the prima donna of IPTN in its attempt to seize the market in the 50-70 passenger class with the advantages it has in its class (when it was launched in 1995). Became an exhibition star at the 1996 Indonesian Air Show in Cengkareng. However, this aircraft was eventually discontinued after the 1997 economic crisis. It was planned that the N-250 program would be rebuilt by B.J. Habibie after obtaining approval from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and changes in Indonesia which are considered democratic. However, in order to reduce production costs and increase price competitiveness in the international market, some of its performance has been reduced, such as a reduction in engine capacity, and a plan to eliminate the fly-by-wire system.

B.J.'s considerations Habibie's production of the aircraft (even though he is now not a director of IPTN) is partly because one of his rival aircraft, the Fokker F-50, has been out of production since its initial release in 1985, because the industrial company, Fokker in the Netherlands, was declared bankrupt in 1996.

On August 21, 2020, this aircraft became one of the collections of the Central Museum of the Indonesian Air Force, Dirgantara Mandala.
