SimpleTech Pummeler A-1D-ST

Auto Credit Based on Pilotmario's Pummeler A-1B

Controls the same way as every other Pummeler. A Pummeler A-1D produced by SimpleTech Aircraft Industries. While the type was not produced under license due to the age of the design surpassing the 50-year copyright limitation, it was built with tooling and jigs from Bandit and PDI, both previous producers of the type and now switching over to the A-1E/F Pummeler production. With this equipment, they were able to produce A-1D Pummeler in number. The primary modification undertaken compared to the original was the revision of the rear canopy, providing superior vision to the rear over PDI or Bandit-built examples. The rest of the airframe remained largely untouched. Salish Air Force markings have been applied to the machine. Underneath are volume-proportionate Boom 50 with half the mass to create a form of Boom 25.

Lanzarrian soldiers never participated in Snowstone, so she never actually fought your forces. Though they do call her the "Honeybadger" for a reason. @JakeTheDogg

We can arrange that. After all, you do outgun most of our tanks with that 145mm coilgun, except for the M6A5 Ardent and its 155mm coilgun, which is not widely in service. And I did give you credit for having a railgun bunker that's at least able to take a 1000lb HEAT charge to the baseplate. @JakeTheDogg

@JakeTheDogg Recoil systems+superior metallurgy+low rate of fire for the A-1D.

It doesn't generate as much recoil as IRL guns such as the Mk 103, which although fired a less powerful cartridge at lower velocities, fired twice as fast as the M8 used in this plane.

The M9 used on the A-1E, F, and G are mounted far more strongly, and the A-1E, F, and G were built with a titanium airframe.

While firing the cannons could destabilize the planes, the pilots are trained to fire short bursts to minimize this.

Also, the engines have dust filters. And as long as proper maintenance and care dependent on climate is done, they work reliably.

After all, planes equipped with engines built similarly like the C-47 still operate in harsh climates you claim would destroy them. Like, at least 400 of them still operate in remote areas where no other plane goes.

They are very precise, resilient, simple, and reliable machines. Able to be maintained with a few spares and hand tools, it can operate in incredibly hostile climates, and can operate on runways even an A-10 would not dare.

It also has a very powerful gun armament. The A-1B Bravo Pummeler employed eight M2 12.7mm machine guns in the wings, where the A-1D Delta Pummeler (this plane) employed four M2 machine guns and four M8 30mm cannons, providing a lethal platform that can destroy tanks. However, these guns fired slower than the M2 cannons. The A-1E, F, and G Pummelers use six M9A1 30mm cannons, which could shoot faster and hit harder than the M8 and M2.

And that is three Boom 50s under the fuselage. All variants are cleared to carry a full load of Boom 50 under the wings and fuselage. The A-1E, F, and G add two additional hardpoints in the inner wing, and the F adds two hardpoints under the wing tips. The Bravo and Delta Pummelers can carry up to 5,500lbs of ordnance, the Echo and Golf Pummelers can carry up to 6,500lbs of ordnance, and the Foxtrot Pummelers can carry up to 7,500lbs of ordnance. It can do this AND take off from Bandit with room to spare. All in addition to its impressive gun armament. @JakeTheDogg

@Pilotmario We are very close to meeting the criteria of being a superpower, we just need to work on our ground forces.

During the Formation Wars, it was the concidered the most dangerous ground attack aircraft in use. It complelled the Mongols to operate using guerrilla tactics, rather than Soviet style armored and mechnized tactics . . . severely lengthening the war. @Pilotmario

We still only operate, outside of forest and other closed areas, during the darkest hours of the night . . . unless to defend ourselves or to trick our foe. @Pilotmario
