This was a prototype long-range interceptor, this design was highly advanced for it's time with extremely smooth fuselage and wing surfaces to reduce drag, to give it a proposed speed of 500mph it used experimental Continental XIV-1430-17/19 12 cyclinder engine each producing 1,350 hp, though the aircraft wasn't as powerful as expected and only achieved 405mph and the single prototype was destroyed after an engine fire, no attempt was made to rebuild it
