UPDATE

This version and its variants are now outdated.

Disclaimer: A project that had been collecting dust for almost a year now. Now it has seen the light of day.

98 PART VERSION

OPFOR VERSION

A fifth-generation, multirole stealth fighter intended to be a more versatile, stealthy alternative to traditional ground attack systems like the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II or Sukhoi Su-25 as well as appealing to customers who could not afford full-sized stealth aircraft.

Inspired by the cancelled McDonnell Douglas A-12 Avenger II and the proposed Boeing Model 988-122 to 123, the Shoebill is a highly-maneuverable flying wing design featuring a high capacity weapons bay for its size as well as an unusual, high-visibility cockpit design where the majority of interior control systems are condensed for simplicity as a result, such as the HUD being located entirely within the augmented reality systems of the helmet and a touchscreen control panel that manages the weapons, targeting system, engine and control surfaces of the aircraft, as well as necessitating the use of bandpass radomes above the intakes on both sides of the aircraft.

CONTROLS

  • Throttle 91-100% - Toggle Afterburner
  • Activate 1 - Deactivate/Reactivate Missiles and Bombs
  • Activate 2 - Deactivate/Reactivate GAU-12 Equalizer
  • Activate 7 - Switch Off/On Engine
  • Activate 8 - Lock/Unlock Control Surfaces

NOTES

  • HUD by PlanariaLab
  • Somewhat very wobbly in terms of movement, so I advise caution when maneuvering around and not to pull too hard.
  • Despite the wobbliness, Funky Trees fly-by-wire system is very forgiving, meaning if you find yourself in a situation where you should have stalled, simply move the controls around as appropriate until you have corrected and smoothed your flight.
  • However, multitude of Funky Trees systems, especially the HUD, mean that spawning another Shoebill while playing as one is not recommended on lower end devices due to the ensuing lag unless both you and the spawned Shoebill are either the 98-part or OPFOR versions.
  • (for lower-end devices) If playing as either the 98-part or OPFOR Shoebill versions, recommend spawning no more than one as my previous device was barely able to handle two spawned aircraft.

Hope you got that all and enjoy.
