STORY
KM Barcelona V.A (Five A) is a passenger ferry owned and operated by PT Surya Pacific Indonesia. She was built in 2021 in Bitung, North Sulawesi, Indonesia and has length of 67 meters, breadth of 8.9 meters, and was powered by two Mitsubishi marine diesel engines with 1850 hp each. She is the fourth and the youngest vessel of the Barcelona series operated by SPI. She has route of Manado - Lirung - Melonguane - Beo v.v. (all of her destination located in the islands regency of Talaud in the province of North Sulawesi, which directly borders the Philippines). In 20 July 2025, during her return trip to Manado, she caught fire in the waters near Talise and Gangga island, North Minahasa regency, North Sulawesi, around 40 km north of Manado. Out of 580 passengers onboard, 3 died and 2 reportedly lost
