The F / A-18 fighter is the third generation supersonic jet fighter of the US Navy.

The attack aircraft of F / A-18 fighter adopts single seat / tandem two seat swept wing aerodynamic configuration and two turbofan engines. It is a multi-purpose aircraft carrier fighter and the first US military model to have both fighter and attacker identities. It has excellent air, ground and sea attack capabilities. As the most important carrier based aircraft of the US Navy, it can be used not only for air defense at sea, but also for ground attack.

The F / A-18 attack aircraft was developed by McDonald Douglas (now Boeing / Boeing). The prototype aircraft first flew on June 9, 1974 and entered the U.S. Navy in 1983. On July 28, 2006, the F-14 fighter plane retired and became the only carrier based fighter on the US aircraft carrier.
