INFO

The LVT (A)(6)M is a mid war version, developed in february 1942 for the Landing Vehicle, Tracked. it consisted in one of the most extreme modifications of the tank its entire chassis was lengthened by 0.3 meters, extended by 1.5 meters and gained new upper angled plates in the front for enhanced protection, along with a new engine bay to fit its brand 250HP V8 engine that could reach speeds of 40KM/H in land and 20KM/H in water.
This design used a unique turret fitted with a 50mm cannon developed exclusively for this turret, its main role was to provide support for infantry, just as its another variants.
Due to its huge differences compared to the original model, the developing stage of the (A)(6)M (M stands for modernized) saw great conflict and divergence between the American high command, hence its delay to start being produced, as the original drawings were made in february 1941 two years before its first unit exit the factory, in february 1943. The main concers about the vehicle was its design cost, the vehicle was bigger, it nedded more materials, and the new turret fitted would use an exclusive cannon, meaning that an entire production line, along with extra resources would need to be directed only for the gun and its ammunition.

In june 1943, after a series of internal discussions the prototype was approved for evaluation, proving to be highly capable in rough terrain, its widened body improved its sterring while still being capable of crossing trenches with ease, its gun saw great results in fire range, combining fast fire power if a great explosive capacity and good muzzle velocity for the time 750 m/s. The veracity of the results and the main reason for the project's approval are still seen as a game of vested interests, with political maneuvers that benefited both the private company that created the tank and the government.
Due to its late arrival on the war, few units were made compared to its more tradicional counterparts, only 834 tanks were created of the original 1500 planned on the contract.

It saw combat in the Western Front and the Pacifc, acting in famous battles such as Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war, it continued being put into combat until 1954.

@Skav15 Thanks, but I can't say that my LVT were as good as yours, as it was outdated and inaccurate..

    Great build, I love it
Although not a replica in a sense, I still love the fact that this is one of the good quality LVT I've seen yet
