This is a simple build; I threw this together in a few days. I tried to make a buttload of moving parts so... controls are wonky.
Throttle up for STOL
Group One: Activates a gyro, and enables the bottom turret
I know it doesn’t look like much on the screenshots, but it’s really cool after transformation.

Found the trusters! I think you should place them back and higher up somewhere.
@Tums, I tried dissecting your ship to see why your CoT is so low but couldn't find your engines...lol, you hid them well!. Where ever they are, I guess you can try bringing the forward engines back so that your CoT is at least directing under your CoM—lift off shouldn't tilt back as much. Though once you go forward, not sure if it will remain horizontal. As you know by now, the trial and error in this game could drive one crazy! Any help I can offer, I always will when asked. Good luck, man!
Awesome! Any suggestions on stability? It’s hard to use com cot col, because of the moving thrusters. Is there anything else I can try? @Tarquez
Tums, you're funny...simple build! lol. Hey buddy, design and concept are off the charts... Love the transformation. I would take a little while to stabilize and fix what ever else you want, and repost as version 2—you deserve the up votes for both versions.

@Tums this build is really great :) though there are some times where some parts gets destroyed sometimes it flies like a charm, almost seems unreal. I haven't been able to test the anti air but the rotating gun below does need a bit of a fix because if you turn to far then the circling piece behind it will destroy it. Also there is a bit of friction between the pieces when you are at like 50% throttle I believe but it may not be an actual problem. Overall I have to say it's the smoothest flyer I have ever used so far :)
