North American F-86F-25 Sabre
For SimplePlanes

Country of Origin: United States
Role: Fighter
Crew: 1
Livery: Special USAF 25th FIS, 51st FIW

The appearance of the MiG-15 over Korea initiated the design of a comparable jet fighter by the United States, the F-86 Sabre. While early models of the F-86 were inferior to the MiG-15 in many aspects, the F-25-model incorporates an all-flying tail inherited from the E-model, slightly larger wings, and a more powerful engine, giving it superior turn rate at higher speeds. F-86’s frequently fought against MiG-15’s in “MiG Alley” and over Manchuria, in violation of rules of engagement. While initially credited with a 10:1 victory ratio against MiG-15’s, the F-86’s official kill ratio was reduced to 2:1 under the investigation dubbed Sabre Measure Charlie.

Although most famous for its use in the USAF, the F-86 was operated by several countries, including Canada, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and the Philippines, in some of which, it was armed with early AIM-9 Sidewinder variants. Read more...

Author's Notes
- Fuel and gun ammo is unlimited.
- On takeoff, I recommend full flaps with full trim. Get to around 230 km/h and pitch up.
- Some flaps are required for level flight below 330 km/h.
- On landing, use the trim to achieve your glide slope and adjust using pitch. (For keyboard users) After touching down, if the plane starts swaying, stop braking and correct with rudder.

@Kangy I don't have the sabre in DCS so WT is the only thing I have to go off of. (And I still don't have an F-sabre in that.)
So I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing with Korean War jet FM's

@NewWorld I actually converted this from an A-variant, but it's basically a downgraded version, so I don't plan on posting it.
The D would be a completely new aircraft, but if I did a sabre dog, I'd do one of the international variants since the American one didn't even have cannons.
