Ship Introduction

The Renown is the first ship of the Royal Navy's Prestige class battlecruiser, equipped with three twin MK1 42 caliber 381mm main guns and ten twin 114mm secondary guns. She was launched on March 4, 1916, and served on September 20, 1916. In the Norwegian campaign on April 9, 1940, she met two German Shanhorst class battlecruisers. Because the Germans mistook each other for Nelson class battlecruisers, they ordered to retreat. The Renown successfully repulsed the two ships, and was famous for "29 -knot Nelson"
