The D14 class locomotives is a class of locomotives that mainly operated in the West and Central Java with D1410 currently being the oldest locomotive operating in Indonesia. The D14 is a tank engine type steam locomotive which means that water and burner fuel were stored on the train as opposed to a tender type train. D1410 can burn wood or oil for her boilers with 2-8-2T on the Whyte notation, which made D14 class a Mikado type train. Funny enough, there was 24 of them, but as of 1970, there were only 23 which means one locomotive is apparently lost.

D14 class was constructed by the German company Hanomag and Dutch company Weerkspoor and operated by Staatspoorwegen (SS) and Djawatan Kereta Api (DKA, now PT KAI). In 2016, D1410 and D52099 was transferred from a static display in Jakarta to Surakarta for restoration. After 2 years, restoration finally started with D1410 finishing restoration in 2020 (while D52099 was still collecting dust, you can see it in Purwosari Station).

Now D1410 is operated as a historical excursion train as part of Sepur Kluthuk Jaladara alongside C1218 (also a tank engine locomotive) in Surakarta. You can see her running along the Slamet Riyadi line which also runs along the Slamet Riyadi main road (funny enough, you're not considered a Surakarta citizen if you never slipped and fall off your motorcycle from slipping on the rail).

Rant

Hello everyone, i decided to post my newest creation, the D1410. This train means a lot to me because she runs in Surakarta, which is also where i currently reside and attend college in. So yeah, also since there is no wikipedia page for the locomotive i decided to write my own while reading the Indonesia wikipedia lol. Also, when i said that you're not a Surakartan when you haven't slipped on the rails its basically what the people said, and yes, i once slipped and fell off my motorcycle once lol. Oh yeah, i put in real pics was to compare the pics with a real pic. Anyways, i hope you enjoy the train, thank you for the time, goodbye.
