Flettner Fl 282

History
The Fl 282 "Kolibri" was an improved version of the Flettner Fl 265 which pioneered the same intermeshing rotor configuration that the Kolibri used. It had seven-cylinder Siemens-Halske Sh 14 radial engine of 150-160 hp mounted in the center of the fuselage, with a transmission mounted on the front of the engine from which a drive shaft ran to an upper gearbox, which then split the power to a pair of opposite-rotation drive shafts to turn the rotors. This was a tried and tested engine design which required maintenance every 400 operating hours. The German Navy was impressed with the Kolibri and wanted to evaluate it for submarine spotting duties, ordering an initial 15 examples, to be followed by 30 production models. Flight testing of the first two prototypes was carried out through 1941, including repeated takeoffs and landings from a pad mounted on the German cruiser Koln. It also performed well in the artillery spotting role. In case of an engine failure the Kolibri could automatically switch to autoroation.
In a simulated dogfight with an Fw-190 the Kolibri proved to be very difficult to detect at low (treetop) altitudes much less shoot at. However at any excessive altitude they were obvious and easy targets. Most examples that were not destroyed outright my the Germans fell victim to soviet fighters and AA fire. No complete examples exist today. There is one complete frame and rotor hub in a British museum, and there is one somewhere in the Smithsonian vast collection of unknown status.

Controls.
Throttle is Throttle. Takeoff at max weight is at around 84%
Hover is at 81-82% throttle. (This will change as you burn off fuel.)
Roll to make wide lazy turns.
Yaw for when hovering or want to make a quick turn.

Notes
My most perfect 1 to 1 scale. Engine is rather slow to spool up or down. Small adjustments are key. When fully tilted forward you WILL lose altitude. Its more of a dive really.
RECOMMEND USING MOUSE AIM OR MOBILE CONTROLS. Using the keys (PC) is doably but not presise.

P.S. Massive thanks to @Baby for modding help. Without him this project would have never gotten off the ground ;)

@Tengam “Kolibri” is German. You are thinking of “Colibri” which is French. Both do mean the same thing however.

Nice name, Kolbri. Suitable for this craft too, because Kolbri is French for “Hummingbird”
