Overview

The USS Madrid is a heavy cruiser commissioned in 1947. It features four large 50 caliber turrets, six secondary turrets of considerable size, and four AA nests. These weapons are very effective, and can make quick work of any enemy ship or coastal defense. During the design stage, it was debated whether this ship would be classified as a heavy cruiser, battlecruiser, or battleship. This was due to how much firepower it held, yet its weight and length restricted it to the classification of heavy cruiser. The Madrid class of heavy cruisers is set to sail alongside the Conquistador class, and be the spearhead of Spinnish naval convoys. It is equipped with eight large lifeboats in the event of an emergency, and several inflatable rafts are located inside as well. The coolest feature in my opinion, is the fact that you can land a helicopter on the stern helipad. I did so with my GBH-10 Kodiak.
