Brief Intro

Prototype:Taliedo Stipa/Stipa-Caproni "Flying Barrel"

TALIEDO STIPA is also called "Caproni-stipa", it's designed by the Italian aircraft designer Luigi Stipa, and tried its first flight at October 7th,1932.

It was designed to fly a high speed at first, although it failed that, it still became a famous historical airplane, you can call it "the ancestor of ducted fans".

It's quite cute, and quite famous, you can still see the title "New Italian Airplane for High Speed is a Flying Tunnel" on old newspapers and websites. BTW, it's wooden.

And today, this new smaller flying tunnel is produced by Genton.Inc, let's just call it Stipa-Genproni……
