    @WarshipDude No, I mean the B-36 had six Wasp Major engines and 4 jet engines. Thats 336 spark plugs total.

    @F104Deathtrap per cylinder? That's a lot of spark (well i mean you are technically firing an "undirty" version of diesel, accidentally have high octane, both of them XD)

    @WarshipDude I'm sure they could just clean off the plugs and stick them back in, but it's still a couple hours of work. Also keep in mind that some planes had as many as 6 of these things.

    @F104Deathtrap oh dear, all 56 could be damaged in a single improper start? and that intensive maintenance is... Definitely a thing considering that even a normal Wasp could be quite hard to maintain
