Made in 1989.
.
The Tortoise is a purpose-built submarine resupply vessel designed to extend the operational endurance of frontline submarines operating far from established naval bases. Emphasizing persistence and reliability over speed, the ship is named for its ability to remain on station for extended periods while quietly sustaining underwater forces.
.
Visually understated, the Tortoise features a low, elongated hull with a reduced superstructure and muted exhaust and acoustic signatures. Its outward resemblance to a civilian auxiliary or tanker allows it to operate with a degree of discretion in contested or heavily monitored waters.
.
Internally, the vessel is arranged around modular storage compartments capable of carrying fuel, fresh water, food stores, lubricants, spare parts, and submarine ordnance, including torpedoes and missile canisters. Heavy-duty internal rails, recessed cranes, and sheltered transfer bays enable safe handling of munitions and supplies during underway replenishment. Standardized docking collars and flexible transfer systems allow the Tortoise to resupply surfaced or shallow-running submarines in moderate sea conditions.
The ship is fitted with precise station-keeping and navigation systems, allowing it to maintain position during delicate resupply operations. Secure, encrypted communications equipment enables coordination with submarines operating at periscope depth, while onboard workshops and medical spaces provide limited repair and crew-support capability.
.
Defensive armament systems include numerous SeaRAM systems. The Tortoise is without any offensive armament, but many radar and sonar systems. There is a helipad, situated on the rear of the ship.
A main vehicle that the tortoise uses is the VC-65 “Star flare”
.
By enabling extended patrols and reducing dependence on fixed ports, the Tortoise serves as a vital logistical node, quietly sustaining submarine forces and ensuring continuous underwater presence across wide maritime regions.

@Monarchii
Ok question,.
Could this be TGT?
@SimplyElegant I mean, so does Kormoran/Pinguin. let's see... Weapons? check. AAA? check. Floatplane? check. torpedo boat? check- wait, torpedo boat?
.
not to mention it also has torpedo tubes and mines and a FCXKTON of range
@Monarchii
Oh yeah.
I kinda forgot about that whole “hide guns in compartments so it seems like we are a tanker” ideal.
The most it has weaponry wise, is some SeaRAMS, for air defense, and some helicopters for supply reconnaissance, and some *Some* drones.
