Kestrel VTOL

120 zenbubbha  7.2 years ago

Massively overpowered jet with two rotating Blastro BFE300 turbofans in a patent-pending counter-rotating wing configuration. Is it safe? No! Is it smart? No! Is it fun? Yeah, yeah it is.

Roughly 14-18% throttle to lift off, with plenty of forward stick until lift off, then back stick to maintain level orientation. It's tricky. Once airborne with gear lifted, it's pretty stable at 18-20% throttle. If you're not interested in a smooth transition, at 900ft., you can hit full throttle and forward vector to power your way out of nearly any trouble. Fly straight up if necessary.
