It is Jack Von Bizarre who had an acid trip during an epileptic seizure that brought on an episode of post traumatic stress disorder that caused him to believe that god was telling him to kill all the demons with a wonderful new device that would explode the heads of all who laid eyes upon it.
Needless to say Jack was committed to an insane asylum shortly after creating his contraption.

Throttle is the afterburner that only makes you go in the green direction.
