Description and design

The SD.kfz. 2, also referred to as "kleines kettenkraftrad" (meaning "tractor motorcycle) is a half-track motorcycle initially designed in 1939 for the airborne troops

It was designed to fit inside the cargo hold of the JU 52 and it was the lightest vehicle to use the complex Schachtellaufwerk system of overlapped wheels. The handlebars were used to steer the kettenkrad, after certain point the wheel brakes would engage to help make sharper turns
