Bell Model 22 (WW2 Original Version)

In 1940, the USA needed a new carrier-based fighter, and there was a competition created to build one. The specifications were that it had either 6 50 caliber (13mm) machine guns or 4 20mm autocannons, and that its wingspan was below or at 40 feet (I may have messed that part up) and could fly for up to 1,000 miles round trip and have a speed of somewhere close to 400 mph at 10,000 feet.
This plane, the Bell Model 22 (which was later redesignated to another plane that was a jet) was a contra-rotating propeller-driven twin-boom carrier-based aircraft that was equipped with 6 50 caliber machine guns and was single seat. It was never built, but I found a model of it and a design that I used to build it (no blueprints, so I made it fly as I though it would :/).

Weapons:

  • 6 Browning M2 50 caliber autocannons (basic shell; 100 rounds each

Controls:

AG1= Arresting Hook

I hope y'all enjoy!

PS: I made this look pretty good for only 83 parts. I'm quite proud of that. Doesn't fly too fast, though :(

    BTW, this was a real plane design, not fictitious. It just was redesignated from the Bell Model 22 to the XP-59, and then was just turned into the Airacomet jet fighter
