History
The MIK F-15 Eagle SJ3 is a next-generation air superiority fighter born from a strategic alliance between MIK Industries, renowned for its advanced aerodynamics and flight control systems, and SJ3 Industries, a leader in avionics, sensor fusion, and combat integration. This collaboration reimagines the legendary F-15 Eagle platform — originally developed by McDonnell Douglas — as a modern, highly agile, and network-capable air dominance machine designed for 21st-century battlefields.

While deeply rooted in the proven design of the F-15C Eagle, the SJ3 variant features extensive structural and systems upgrades: a fully digital fly-by-wire system, enhanced thrust-to-weight ratio, improved radar cross-section reduction measures, and an open-architecture mission computer that allows rapid integration of new weapons and sensors. The aircraft was developed under the Sky Jaguar III Initiative, a classified joint program between private defense contractors and select allied air forces.

Externally, the MIK F-15 Eagle SJ3 retains the aggressive twin-engine, twin-tail silhouette and high-mounted wing of its predecessor, but with refined leading-edge extensions, chine edges along the fuselage, and internal weapon bays to reduce drag and improve survivability. The sleek gray stealth-laced livery, combined with sharp angular intakes and a cockpit optimized for VR and HUD projection, gives it a futuristic yet familiar appearance.

Aircraft lore
In the early 2020s, as stealth fighters became more prevalent, many air forces faced a dilemma: replace aging F-15 fleets with expensive fifth-generation platforms or upgrade existing airframes to remain competitive. The MIK F-15 Eagle SJ3 emerged as the answer — a cost-effective, high-performance solution that blends legacy reliability with cutting-edge technology.

Developed under a black-budget program, the SJ3 variant was first tested in the deserts of Nevada, where it demonstrated exceptional performance in simulated dogfights against stealth-adapted adversaries. Equipped with dual APG-85 AESA radars (one forward, one rearward-facing), infrared search and track (IRST), and a distributed aperture system (DAS), the aircraft achieves near-360° situational awareness.

It carries a mix of AIM-120X Meteor-class BVRAAMs, AIM-9X Block III Sidewinders, and internal short-range defensive missiles for close-in combat. Two external hardpoints support conformal fuel tanks or targeting pods, ensuring extended range without sacrificing agility. The aircraft also features electronic attack capabilities, including radar jamming, decoy emission, and passive detection of enemy emitters.

Pilots describe the SJ3 as "an F-15 on steroids" — faster, smarter, and more lethal than any previous variant. It is currently operated in limited numbers by elite units under the "Sentinel Wing", a multinational rapid-response force tasked with air superiority in high-threat environments.

Flight recommendations

Takeoff: Activate Auto-Trim (Ground Mode) before engine start. Advance throttles to 70% and hold until nose lifts (~180 km/h). Gently pull up at 5–7° pitch, then increase to full power with afterburner if needed. Retract gear and flaps once above 220 km/h.

Landing: Reduce speed to 340 km/h before extending gear. Deploy flaps to 30° and use Auto-Trim (Landing Mode) to increase lift. Maintain 280–300 km/h on final approach. Use airbrakes to control descent rate and touch down smoothly. Keep engines at ~30% power until rollout is complete.

Combat: Jettison external tanks to maximize agility. Use Rear Radar Mode to detect threats behind you. Launch AIM-120X missiles at long range, then switch to Heat Seeker Mode with AIM-9X for close engagements. Activate Agility Mode for tighter turns and faster roll response.

SEAD Operations: Use passive radar detection to locate enemy emitters. Engage with HARM-compatible missiles or precision-guided munitions. Avoid active radar use to remain undetected.

VR Piloting: For full immersion, enable VR cockpit view. Use head tracking to scan for threats and target enemies with Helmet-Mounted Cueing System (HMCS). The targeting reticle follows your gaze for faster lock-on.

@Rakoval500k Hey! Great eye spotting those multiple low-power gyros stacked along the spine behind the airbrake. Instead of using one big gyro, this setup spreads out several smaller ones for a few cool reasons:

It adds redundancy, so if one gyro acts up, the others keep things stable.

The distributed arrangement helps balance forces better and reduces any wobble or weird interference.

Smaller gyros use less power and weigh less individually, which fits nicely into tight aircraft designs.

Together, they can give smoother, more precise orientation info without limiting how you can maneuver the plane.

So basically, this design keeps your plane’s stability sharp, smooth, and reliable without getting in the way of your flying tricks. Pretty smart engineering for a flexible and stable ride!

Greetings! I found that this plane has a longitudinal array of low-power gyroscopes in its spine behind the airbrake. Would you please explain the principles and benefits of this solution instead of using a single, more powerful gyro, gyros on rotators, or not using gyroscopes in the first place? These gyros somehow don't seem to restrict maneurability in any way.

@CaptainNoble How did you get Simpleplanes' AI to start your plane's engines? When I tested your plane against mine, your plane crashed without starting the engines every time...

I respect the outcome of the challenge, but the result seems strange to me. I did a lot of testing...

🚀🔥 Thanks so much for the warm welcome!
It's been quite a while since my last upload, so I wanted to come back with something special. The MIK F-15 Eagle SJ3 blends everything I love about classic fighters with a futuristic edge—keeping the original F-15 spirit, but pushing the limits with new lines, systems, and details to make it truly unique.

I'm really excited to see all of your support and hype! 🙌
Hope you enjoy flying it as much as I enjoyed building it. More projects coming soon—stay tuned! ✈️
