Delta IV Heavy Rocket

6,816 BrainyDJ  8.6 years ago

This is BrainyDJ, reporting from mission control with our newest Spacecraft! This is a very accurate replica of the real "Delta IV Heavy" Rocket! It even comes with the launch tower and Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). There is a video lower in description of the real rocket. Watch it!

Information: Built by the United Launch Alliance, it is the heaviest of the Delta IV (4) family of rockets. It is a rocket used to carry payloads into earth orbit.

Instructions:
-Activate group 1 to detach VAB
-Throttle up to max then right after deactivate 1 to move VAB
-Throttle up again and activate group 2 to start engines
-After the engines warmed up activate group 3 to launch!
-Yaw and Roll are switched for some reason. Yaw 'rolls' and roll 'yaws'.

This is probably the project that took me the longest, it took me about 7 hours at least (no kidding). This is also one of my biggest projects to date (literally and figuratively).

THIS IS HUGE. IT MAY LAG DEPENDING ON HOW GOOD YOUR SYSTEM IS. DON'T BLAME ME FOR LAG.

the first ORION EFT-1 launch was on Dec.5, 2014. when it launched, the liquid main engine and the liquid booster engine was ignited, and the capsule was holding something VERY precious in place of humans. when 3/4 of the booster fuel was gone, the liquid main engine cut down its thrust amount by 10%. and then the booster fuel was gone, it was already close to being in orbit. so the main engine ignited for once more until its fuel was gone, and the decoupler's explosive bolts blew up and the first stage was separated with the rest of the rocket. the 2nd stage ignited putting the whole rocket into LEO. when it made about 3 orbits, the 2nd stage ignited again, backwards to de-orbit the rocket which causes the capsule to go through the transmission blackout because of the plasma heating the heatshields. suddenly, the capsule opened its chutes and landed somewhere in the atlantic. one of the famous ships picked it up and took it to a space center.

The yaw is the roll and the roll is the yaw because you are going up, not forward, and it doesn't count that as a factor for the nozzles. Hope that makes sense

@LordofLego Okay. The video of the real rocket is amazing. Just remove the VAB for now.

The rocket worked fine, the VAB didn't. I'll have to watch the video later.

@LordofLego Now that you mention a mobile device... this is NOT recommended for mobile. Probably why. This was built on PC for PC. I may release a version with ONLY the rocket for mobile. Its the VAB and the tower that cause lag and problems. The rocket is simple, really.

@LordofLego about the VAB, i am not sure what happened. Try pressing 1 then throttle up to max and wait if it moves.

Very cool! The VAB wouldn't move, so I had to cut a hole in the roof, but otherwise, not bad!
