Yugo 45

Auto Credit Based on NoGoCars's Yugo 45

This is the Yugo. It is very arguable that the Yugo is the worst car in history. From only having 55 horsepower to not having presets on the radio, the Yugo is very limited on features. One of the most advanced features of the Yugo is the hazard lights. Those are handy for when you break down. Not if. If you want a very detailed history of the Yugo, I recommend that you read The Yugo: The Rise and Fall of the Worst Car in History by Jason Vuic. It is very interesting read.

Ah, I thought the Yugo looked somewhat familiar in the video. Just couldn’t recognize the Panda in it. Thanks for the history lesson. :-) @CrashFighter05

@Potkuri alright. exhales. Time for a history lesson. The Yugo 45, GV, and GV Plus are all manufactured by Zastava in the late 80s. Zastava was located in the former Yugoslavia, and no, the name did not come from the country name. This Yugo 45 was the version made just for Americans, due to EPA emmisions laws, the Yugo had to be tinkered on to improve emmissions to be sold in the US. F
The closest vehicle to the Yugo is the Fiat Panda. Anywho, this vehicle was notorious for bad engine quality, low horsepower (45 up) and it's overall bad quality. If you want more info, ask me.

I can stop wondering how Toyota came up with Aygo.

When you show up to an exotic car show in a Yugo. " I can't believe the bumpers are intact" and " I can't believe that it even starts"

The 45 stands for the amount of seconds it will work.

@ChallengerHellcat I'm not sure. Probably. 20 years is a long time for a car that is used every day.

Wow. Do you know if your grandma's car had any major maintenance repairs? @EternalDarkness

@ChallengerHellcat they fall off after a few years if you drive it into a tree at 80km/h. My grandma had one of these for around two decades. It only lost a bumper once my uncle started driving it and struck a pole while parking.

ooh nice. But is this reliable? It seems terrible enough for body panels to fall off after a few years @EternalDarkness

@ChallengerHellcat very easy to repair. I happen to live in the country that produced them, and there are still many of those on the road here. You can find spare parts anywhere, and the are easy to install.

Yugo is not the worst car in the world. There are even worse cars in that price range ($200 used, in working order). It's a basic car you buy for your kid to practice. Cheap to repair, easy to park, and it can keep going with half of its parts out of order. It has gained reputation of the worst car because it was compared to usual American cars (roomy, with big engines). It's a car you'd use in the 60s and 70s to go grocery shopping.
