Overview

The USS Silver Wolf (Pennant Number SSN-121) is a United States Federation Navy Seawolf-class nuclear powered fast attack submarine. The name of the submarine says it all, it is a dangerous enemy in battle.

Overview - Seawolf-class Attack Submarine

The Seawolf class is a class of nuclear-powered, fast attack submarines (SSN) in service with the United States Navy. The class was the intended successor to the Los Angeles class, and design work began in 1983. A fleet of 29 submarines was to be built over a ten-year period, but that was reduced to 12 submarines. The end of the Cold War and budget constraints led to the cancellation of any further additions to the fleet in 1995, leaving the Seawolf class limited to just three boats. This, in turn, led to the design of the smaller Virginia class. The Seawolf class cost about $3 billion per unit ($3.5 billion for USS Jimmy Carter), making it the most expensive United States Navy fast attack submarine and second most expensive submarine ever, after the French Triomphant-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines.

History

USS Silver Wolf was constructed around 1980s, and she was commissioned by the United States Federation Navy around the late 1990s for the naval service.

United States Federation Navy is the primary user of the Seawolf-class submarine. In other use, the Monarchii Royal Navy also known to operates some numbers of Seawolf-class submarine, three of the subs which are assigned to the Monarchii's Yamato Strike Group were sunk during the Operation 'Going Eleven' in the climax of the first Monarchii War.

One of the known battle record, USS Silver Wolf was deployed to the unknown arctic sector to seize the valuable asset from the adversary force (referred to as "cache"). At the operation's beginning, its presence was unknown to the adversary as they were being distracted by a Federation diversionary fleet as well as one of the USAF 120 Squadron. After acquiring the cache, the submarine hit an undersea mine which forced it to surface. The submarine's controls were also destroyed, setting USS Silver Wolf on a collision course towards an iceberg. The USAF squadron destroyed the iceberg and defended USS Silver Wolf from incoming bomber threat and anti-submarine aircraft. Once the iceberg was cleared, USS Silver Wolf safely reached the combat zone border.

Disadvantages:

• Bow of the submarine is quite unbalanced. Whenever the submarine goes forward it will lean down a bit.
• Just like the other submarines I made, you cannot dive deeper because weapons always disappears on the certain deep. But the good thing is, you can peek through the periscope by using Cockpit View mode.

Manual instruction:

• Throttle = Move forward.
• Brake = Brake.
• S = Reverse (set throttle to 0 first).
• A & D = Turn left & right.
• VTOL Down = Submerge.
• VTOL Up = Surfacing.
• V = Launch flares.

• Pinch to zoom in and out (for mobile/ with touchscreen).

• The submarine namesake was named after one of the active moderators of the SimplePlanes site. In the same time, the submarine namesake can also a reference to the one playable character with the same name from Honkai: Star Rail.

• The submarine motto herself is literally the modified quotes of the character in game.
• The United States Federation is an allegory or the fictional counterpart of the real world United States of America but in SimplePlanes universe. So it is a theorical reason why the ship prefix in the game is USS (example: USS Beast). United States Federation can also inspired or referencing United Federation from the border inspector simulation game, Papers Please.
• The sub might shares a same trait to her Ace Combat "Strangereal" counterpart, the Naiad.
• Unlike the Naiad, The Silver Wolf is a Seawolf-class submarine, while the Naiad herself is a Los Angeles-class submarine.
