Southwest State Liveries! (Part 1)

About The Aircraft

Southwest Airlines is the 4th largest airline in the United States and the largest operator of the Boeing 737 aircraft family, with over 800 in their fleet. The 737-700 variant is currently the airline’s most used type with around 320 in operation as of posting, despite many of the type already being retired. The -700 is also the smaller variant in Southwest’s fleet with most being configured with 143 economy seats in a 3-3 layout.

This aircraft, registered N955WN, is a 737-7H4 which was delivered new to Southwest in March 2011. In 2018 it was painted in the “Arizona One” livery which features the design of the Arizona Flag as part of the airlines’ state livery series.

About the Build

Most of the work with this plane was done on the livery, but some minor updates have been made to the aircraft including re-shaped doors, various landing gear changes and the addition of the satcom. Another update made after finishing my Freedom One plane was switching the windows from beacon lights to text labels for part-efficiency. Despite being fairly detailed, all 4 state liveries that I have made are close to or under 600 parts!

These planes have been sitting around for months now, I couldn’t find the right time to push them over the finish line and get them published. Regardless, each of these were genuinely fun to make and I hope you enjoy these colorful additions to your SP livery collections.
