Notes

If you want to fly straight using the wing sweep then i recommend messing up with the trim
This thing has a very quick acceleration

Historical Facts

The Model 225A was McDonnell Douglas' entry in the Navy's VFX (Naval Fighter Experimental) competition in 1968, which resulted in the eventual selection of the Grumman G-303 design as the F-14. While the design never reached even a mockup, features of this configuration can be seen in the F-15 Eagle, designed only a few years later.

Thats all!

Good luck everyone on the challenge

    @TheCommentaryGuy
Low wing configuration is already hard, now it's a varible ones then it'll be hard.
Not a missile truck but it can't have better range than the F-14 due to lack of space for bigger fuel tanks, the range wouldn't be long and as i remembered that interceptors must have a good range, mid-air refueling maybe?
Also i think this one maximum's armament can carry like 4 AIM-54 and 2 Aim-9 with no fuel tank and if you want fuel tanks on your wings then you have to make your wings higher or higher landing gears (not great for carrier landings).
I also do like this design but it'll not better than our F-14 of how capable of it.

@Khanhlam my guy its a fleet interceptor its not suppose to be a missile truck and "harder to maintain"????

This one would be more complex, less place to hold armaments, harder to maintain, more expensive than the F-14, also harder to be used in the aircraft carrier i think.
It'll have better maneuvers than our F-14 due to it's canards.

@TheCommentaryGuy yes I agree and I love the f-14 and I would have also loved to see THIS in the top gun movie instead

@teddyone02 Sorry Im an old dude had to get my 17 year old daughter to translate your comment. Yessir if it's got a swing wing I find an airplane irresistable. B1 Lancer, F1-11. etc

@TheCommentaryGuy I'm neither a F-14 (sexy plane, but not the only one) or Top Gun fanboy (I think both films mostly live off nostalgia, although TGM does have some cool flying scenes) so I feel relatively impartial here ... still, this design proposal shows exactly, why it wasn't selected for development and testing: it's rough, bulky and the low-wing VG configuration seems like it would cause more harm than good in terms of stability. There are many good reasons why the F-14 was selected.

And let's be real, everything forward of the intakes looks very much like a Tomcat anyway. ;-) Still very cool to see this made in SP!

I know this will piss off so much F-14/Top Gun Fanboys but this model looks better than the F-14 and could have been much cheaper

Hard to hate a variable wing plane.
