The Z40 was one of the modifications available for the M224 APC, offering a cheap alternative to enhance its firing capabilites compared to its 20mm original armament, the upgraded aimed towards a more powerful vehicle to offer support to infantry units on field.

ABOUT THE TURRET

The Z40 turret is a universal turret equipped with a fully stabilized 40mm cannon that can shoot apfsds rounds each 4 seconds at speeds of 1400m/s, that can also be equipped with HE and HEVT (not included on the building).
Armor wise, it has composite armor, capable of offering protection to rounds up to 30mm, similar to the russian 2A72.
To improve it survavibility,the turret comes equipped with an LWS (Laser Warning System) and red phosphorus smoke launchers for visual, thermal and laser protection.
