A-48

929 IssaIwan  5.0 years ago

Made in the final months of WWII for use as both an attack plane and heavy fighter. More famous than the A-47 (which actually was used after this but designed first), it is known to have crippled numerous battleships to allow torpedo bombers to arrive safely. The main differences in design are it's slightly longer tail, addition of rocket pods, inability to mount bombs below the wing (due to performance issues surrounding weight), and it's additional wings. It is faster and more maneuverable than the 47, but has less powerful cannons.
