In the 2040's, the US navy required a replacement for their aging F-16s. they commisioned boeing in 2046 to make a new multi-role fighter capable of 575 knots. In 2049, the YF-21 was Finished and was set for production in 2051. however, the aircraft suffered from multiple issues, including a weak elevator, an unstability issue when on autopilot, and a tendecy to roll and yaw on takeoff. ultimatley, the project was cancelled, and the aircraft was preserved at the Pima air and space museum in tuscon, AZ. (sorry i havent posted ive been dealing with computer issues and hanging out with friends.)
