The Sukhoi S-31 is Ruslan’s experimental aircraft developed after the creation of the “Vityaz P” airborne tactical laser system, which proved too large for existing fighters like the MiG-29 or Su-27. Based on the Su-30S, the S-31 features a widened fuselage between its twin intakes to house the Vityaz P with dual locking mounts. It is powered by new Solovyev SD-31H engines with thrust vectoring eventually altering whole design, and equipped with internal bays beneath the vertical tail carrying IR-9B missiles, along with two MPABM (Multi Purpose Air Burst Missile) and a 30mm cannon.

The aircraft was assigned to Sukhoi’s private test squadron “Alya,” led by test pilot Alya Perozensky Dragunov. However, rumors suggest that the S-31 has been use in active war secretly funded by Ruslan Ministry of Defense. Following reports of a catastrophic explosion in City of Tyupol that killed hundreds, Western sources accused Ruslan of deploying the MPABM in a populated area. Alya publicly denied involvement, her once bright demeanor overshadowed by visible guilt and exhaustion.
