Introduction

If you have ever seen the design for the Republic F-103 you will likely think it had potential but like every other design it could have done with some developing to get around some of the more "obvious" design flaws.

When i looked at the design i always thought the following needed addressing / would have been altered in a production model (have a look at the original F4 Phantom design compared to the production model);

Main undercarriage - no way that angle of attack and that low slung system would have been feasible in the long run
Cockpit - Pilots like to see their targets / what they are doing, a single pilot would likely have been overworked as well
Overall wing / tail shape and arrangement

So on my design i basically amalgamated a few features from different century series fighters and ended up with this model with a more realistic undercarriage arrangement, two seat cockpit like a Thud, a main wing similar to a Voodoo, a tail / fin arrangement like a Starfighter and a colour scheme to match the rest of the century series aircraft of the era.

Controls

AG1= start the engines (afterburner after 90%ish throttle)
AG3= airbrakes
AG4= pop out weapons /arm missiles
AG6= Jettison drop tanks (automatically detach after 650mph anyway)
LG= landing gear function and sequenced doors
VTOL dn= flaps and slats
